Drug Exchanges In Ukraine Are On The Rise, Despite Civil Unrest

In Ukraine, an illegal drug network on the Dark Net is thriving, as dealers are agreeing to hide drugs in certain locations in exchange for monetary considerations.  Using these exchange techniques, drug users are able to obtain illicit drugs at very cheap prices.

The exchanges are known as dead drops. The buyer is instructed to find drugs at a hidden location so that the two parties don’t actually have to meet up face to face. The monetary exchange happens online using Bitcoins so that nobody can be traced.

Despite all the problems and unrest going on in Ukraine, the drug market has not slowed down. Indeed, the drug industry from the Dark Net is performing tremendously. The market makes use of the Dark Net, which is hidden on the private web browser TOR so that users cannot be easily traced or located.

The Ukrainian Dark Net drug market was launched on the evening before the country’s civil war in May of 2013. Since then, it has continued to function successfully. Many drug users say that it has been a way for them to escape from the constant unrest of the country.

The market is called PsyCo, which is short for Psychedelic Community. The market is able to help high-seekers find whatever they are looking for. While the country’s visible economy has tanked because of war, the underground market is performing fantastically.

The drug dealers of the darknet often go unnoticed, as the country is more focused on tackling big hacking rings targeting banks, stock markets and credit card companies.

And by using these dead drops and Bitcoin, tracking these transactions is virtually impossible. Offering further protection for both the dealers and the buyers is that the police have more important things to worry about, namely civil violence. Thus, everyone involved in the drug trade is having a great time.

Of course, there is the danger of being sold phony drugs, some of which could easily be lethal. There are obviously some major risks involved. But most people who have used the Dark Net in Ukraine have said that it has been largely successful.

Needless to say, drug users will always find a way to get what they want.
