How To Avoid Injury And Relieve Back Pain

Millions of Americans of all ages have experienced neck and back pain at some point in their lives. Neck and back pain is sensitive to stress, and it can be caused by the straining of muscles, and herniated intervertebral discs.

Back pain can be caused by a multitude of problems within the complex, interconnected network of spinal muscles, nerves, bones discs and tendons.

  • Large nerve roots in the low back that go to the legs may be irritated
  • Smaller nerves that supply the low back may be irritate
  • Large lower back muscles may be strained
  • Bones, ligaments or joints may be damaged
  • Disc may be degenerating

 

Adopting a bad posture such that neck and spine alignment is overstressed will certainly cause neck and back pain. One of the most common scenarios that lead to developing the neck pain. Generally, this happens when you are asleep. It can also happen while performing the tasks like reading a book in the bed without using a pillow.

Back pain can happen at anytime, twisting, turning, over reaching, being exhausted will cause your spine to misalign.

The most common of neck pain is an uncomfortable sleeping position. In this case, the use of pillows is recommended. Keeping your head too high or too low on the pillow will cause a slight misalignment of the spine and the neck, which might become the cause of neck pain. Back pain, discomfort and exhaustion might also be caused by the same sleeping position. This posture is not good for the muscles, and they try to gain a better position by stretching or compressing. In doing so, back pain or neck pain arises.

It is hard to avoid neck or back pain, trying to adopt a better posture, strengthen your back muscles,  exercise and stretching, where proper fitting shoes, look at orthotics, use correct pillows for sleep,  all of these things will encourage better circulation of blood, while preventing the neck and spine from undergoing any kind of stress.
