We’ve all heard of drive-in movie theatres, but how about a float-in theatre where you can see movies on a boat? For those who can’t get enough of the water, Australian company Beyond Cinema says they’re looking forward to touring in North America. Their setup will include mini ‘movie’ boats and will be stopping in major cities. Though nothing is confirmed as of yet, they are taking pre-registration emails. They recently held an event in Paris last month, which sparked North American interest.

Given today’s circumstances, these boats will help with social distancing regulations. Listed on their site, “Tickets will require you to purchase the whole boat to ensure that groups will be seated with friends and family only, and to allow for social-distancing on and between boats.” A new spin for moviegoers!

Beyond Cinema will be showing classic films as well as new releases, similar to drive-in theatres. The events will also be offering free popcorn! Currently, pre-registration is available in Los Angeles, Denver, San Diego and San Francisco on September 2nd.

Be sure to find out if you can see movies in a boat from a city near you!

Bring the whole family or a small group of close friends to ensure the social distancing guidelines are being respected so you can see movies on a boat. Oh and can’t forget the free popcorn!
