Following the horrific attacks in Paris late last week, the famous cyber hacker group known as Anonymous announced that it is about to unleash a series of unrelenting attacks on ISIS. In an as-of-yet-unverified video posted on Youtube, Anonymous issued a declaration of war against the terrorist organization.

A individual wearing a Guy Fawkes mask announced that the ISIS militants who claimed responsibility for the Paris attacks are nothing but “vermin” and that Anonymous would hunt them down by using its unique, all-compassing hacker expertise.

The man spoke in French and emphatically told his online audience that, “These attacks cannot remain unpunished.”

He further added that, “We are going to launch the biggest operation ever against you. Expect many cyber attacks. War has been declared. Get ready.” He did not specify details about what the attacks would involve but did say that, “We don’t forgive and we don’t forget.”

And he did not stop there. He also promised that, “Anonymous from all over the world will hunt you down. You should know that we will find you and we will not let you go. We will launch the biggest operation ever against you . . . the French people are stronger than you and will come out of this atrocity even stronger.”

The video was not posted on the group’s official channel, but a tweet from Anonymous’ known Twitter account did state that the group was at war with Daesh – another name for ISIS.

The famous activist hacker group rose to prominence after claiming responsibility for a number of cyber attacks against organizations, individuals and governments that the group does not particularly approve of including the Church of Scientology, PayPal, Mastercard and a number of other entities.

It is unclear whether the world’s governments will do anything to prevent Anonymous from carrying out its threats, but it remains unlikely as these hackers are very good at what they do – and can likely do some serious damage to ISIS. Moreover, world leaders are likely very thankful that this group will do some dirty work on its own accord – without having to act within the limits of the law.
