There are some side effects with this method. Some women complain of irregular or unusual spotting during first few weeks of using Depo-Provera. The drug has also been associated with weight gain and weight fluctuation. Some women report hair loss, headaches, abdominal pain and nausea. It is recommended that if any side effects persist for more than 2 weeks, then the patient should consult the doctor.
