Fans of The Good Wife will soon have to say goodbye to the show. It was announced during the Super Bowl that the CBS drama would be airing its final episode on May 8th. Indeed, the highly-successful drama series is in its final moments.
There had been ongoing questions about whether or not the drama would continue after this season. Many of the actors on The Good Wife had expiring contracts, most notably the show’s star actress, Julianna Margulies. The show’s creators Robert and Michelle King have said that will move on to new projects following the completion of the show.
During her time on The Good Wife, Margulies won two Emmys for her role as Alicia Florrick. Before starring in The Good Wife, Margulies had a leading role in the long-running NBC drama series ER.
In total, The Good Wife ran for seven seasons, dating back to 2009.
