New York City is planning a Central Park concert to mark the end of the COVID-19 pandemic. The comeback concert will mark the end of the dark days and promote a new beginning for NYC. Here is everything we know so far.
The pandemic is almost behind us and New York City is planning a rebound celebration. The Central Park concert will be coming this summer and it will be memorable.
Central Park Concert
The special event is being organized by record producer Clive Davis as well as Mayor Bill de Blasio. This concert is just one event of the week-long citywide celebration of the end of COVID-19.
As vaccinations rates increase and the rate of infection decreases rapidly, everyone all of the globe can rejoice. “This is going to be an amazing, memorable once-in-a-lifetime week in New York City,” Mayor Blasio told a news conference.
The date of the celebratory concert is set for August 21. However, the line up has no been disclosed.

A Once-In-A-Lifetime Event for the City of New York
Despite the mystery lineup, we have been assured this is a weeklong event we don’t want to miss.
Clive Davis, a renowned figure within the music industry, says they are putting together an “all-star” roster of artists and musicians.
Additionally, if you’re not vaccinated don’t worry! The Times has said there will be sections for the unvaccinated. However, 70% of tickets will be going to vaccinated individuals.
The City is Coming Back to Life
With the summer heat rolling in as well as the restaurants and parks booming with activity, the end of the pandemic is within reach.
Just yesterday (Monday, June 7th), Mayor de Blasio said that New York has the lowest COVID-19 rates since the pandemic began.
Moreover, nearly 4.5 million New Yorkers have received at least one dose of the vaccine. Government officials will continue to offer prizes and incentives for those still hesitant on getting the shot.
Lastly, the rest of the COVID-19 restriction will be lifted when until 70% of residents receive one dose of the vaccine. As of yesterday, New York is only 1.4% away from this goal!
