Coffee is a huge player in our day-to-day lives, but do know all the facts about caffeine?

Let’s be real, mornings without coffee just don’t be the same. How do you like your coffee is as common a question as how do you like your eggs. Caffeine fuels millions throughout their day. But, apparently that good stuff is a substance and it’s actually making you addicted. Lets take a closer look at 11 facts about caffeine!  ☕️

Caffeine withdrawal is classified as a mental disorder.

In 2013, the American Psychiatric Association listed caffeine withdrawal as mental condition in their Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. If a caffeine addict goes without the substance for a period of time, not only will this person experience headaches, but also a lowering in their thinking capabilities. No not my latte!!

You can overdose on caffeine.

Drinking 100 cups of caffeine within an hour can lead to death. I don’t think anyone in their right mind would purposefully drink 100 cups of a caffeinated beverage. A caffeine overdose is more likely to occur if a person gets carried away with drinking multiple cups of highly-caffeinated coffee or energy drinks. Stay away from vodka Redbulls!

We drink less caffeine than we did 50 years ago 

Despite the introduction of energy drinks, we still manage to imbibe less caffeine than people living 50 years ago. Today, we are still huge caffeine drinkers. However, instead of solely relying on caffeine for energy boosts as people did fifty years ago, we rely on more natural energy boosters such as vitamins. Work smarter not hard ????
