This movie is an adaptation of the book, Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI. The book investigates a series of murders of wealthy Osage people in the early 1920’s.
The Osage people were preparing to come into money after the sale of the oil deposits. However, the administrators of the land had other plans.
In the novel, the Osage people were murdered and found in a large oil deposit beneath their land.
Additionally, the mixture of bad relationships, oil and money left the Osage people as victims.

Scorsese is known for making big movies with incredible plots and detail. From his critically acclaimed Irishman to dark comedy The Wolf of Wall Street.
