First things first, choose an area. The Nantahala National Forest, the Appalachian Trail and the western North Carolina nature center are just examples of the interesting places you can consider visiting in this area.

Nantahala National forest has quite a number of basins and peaks of the western part of the North Carolina mountain ranges. Within the forest is the Tusquitee River, which is perfect for those who love river rafting. The river also has calmer waters that are appropriate for family vacations.

The Appalachian Trail which runs from Northern Georgie to Central Maine and is a 2000 mile footpath. This magnificent trail stretches through a number of adventure spots of the mountain ranges. From Clingmans Dome, the peak point of the Appalachian Trail, experience amazing panoramic views of the neighbouring regions.

The Western North Carolina Nature Center is another great choice for family trip. With many beautiful gardens, a nocturnal hall, a petting zoo, a predicator habitat and other exciting features. Furthermore, the center is also a sanctuary for the orphaned or injured wildlife, which cannot live on in the wild.
